This page covers growing and organizing your GiftSpark organization — inviting members, building teams and subgroups, and using the directory. A well-organized membership makes recognition, leaderboards, and insights meaningful at the team level, not just company-wide.

Inviting members​

Admins invite teammates to the organization. New members sign in with Google, accept the invite, and land in the organization with the role you assigned. Invites can be shared as links or codes.

Teams and subgroups​

Members are organized into teams, and teams can have subgroups for finer structure (for example, a department split into squads). This structure powers:

  • Team leaderboards — friendly competition scoped to a team.
  • Manager insights — a manager sees their team's engagement, not the whole company's.
  • Targeted recognition and gifting — activities that make sense at the team level.

The directory​

The directory is a searchable list of everyone in the organization. It's how people find a colleague, see their team, and connect — especially useful for new hires and distributed teams who can't rely on running into each other.

Use cases​

  • Onboarding a new hire — invite them, place them on the right team, and they immediately appear in the directory.
  • Reorganizing — move members between teams and subgroups as the org structure changes.
  • Finding the right person — a teammate uses the directory to find who owns an area.
  • Scoped competition — team leaderboards keep engagement lively without one giant company-wide ranking.
